Problem- Does the length of the string, weight on the end of the string, or the angle of the drop effect a pendulums range in swings the most in 15 seconds.
The string lenth determines the number of cycles no matter if the weight is changed or the angle of the drop is changed. Evidence- The length of the string was increrased in 10 cm increments which caused an average of 10 pendulums per change of string length . The increase in number of washers [mass] used had little affect on pendulum cycles until the of washers reached five. The angle of the drop was increased 10 times resulting in a very marginal increasof pendulumcycles. I observed that the one varible, the length of the string had the most im paction the number at pendulumcycles produced.
Reasoning- I think that the length of the string had the most impaction the pendulum cycles based on the data collected in the expier ment .The length of the string caused the mass to increase the pendulum cycle due to the direction of the force caused by the length of string. My conclusion is that the mass woul continue to move [pendulum cycle] and increase in cycles with the shorter string length.

The answer is the length of the string it is the less times it goes back and forth. We did 3 test on each length of string and saw how many times it went back and forth and we used ten strings (10cm, 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm, 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, 100cm, ). Using the shortest piece of string (10 cm)the average swings was 17. Using the longest piece of string was 100 cm the average was 7.using a 50 cm string the average swing was 9.I started to notice that the longer the string the less it goes back and forth. I think the longer the string the momentum so it takes longer to get there. I belive the shorter thestring gets there faster it gets there. I feel the expieriment went right because there was 3 test and alot all of them were the same.

During this expriment we tested what effects the the number of times the pendulum finishd each cycle testing it by length, weight, or angle in 15 seconds, my group did length. The other groups did either the weight of the washers or the angle of the drop seeing if one another affected the numbr of times the pendulum finished a cycle. In my group I noticed by looking at the data table is how the numbers would increase or decrease. Also when I looked at the data table the numbres would incrase with a shorter amount of string ( 10cm, 20cm, and 30cm of string) and would decrease with a longer amount of string ( 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, and 100cm.) another thing I noticed by looking at the data table is the numbers didn't seem to be going in a range each time we did a new length but the numers still stayed in a pretty close range. An observation I saw was when i watched the pendulum of 10cm it got alot more cycles in as for the 100cm pendulum didn't get as many cycles in because it took in alot more distance than than the 10cm pendulum. I think that the length of the string is the variable in this experimnt because a shoter string doesn't take as much time and distance to finish one cycle while the 100cm pendulum has to take up more time and distance to finish just one cycle. That's why I think that the length of the string is the variable in this experiment. So for this experiment, my conclusion is the length of the string is what effected the number of cycles the pendulum complted.
